A little game we play call, "Monkey, monkey, who's got the monkey?" People say, "Oh, no! I never play games". Truthfully the church house is filled with game players. Sinners, seldom go to church but the ungodly, frequently enter the church doors because that is where they hide reality under a veil of so-called-righteousness.
Who has the monkey is the game we are playing when we have not learned how to watch, listen, pray, and discern in the spiritual. We have a difficult day and the enemy of our soul sends us a monkey with which to play. It is usually a familiar monkey to us, and one to which we are susceptible. The monkey of depression greets us, we not only respond but we invite him to stay. Sister comes over, sees the monkey, and we feed our monkey. He invites some of his friends and pushes away the sister who could help deliver us from the grips of the monkey. Then sister gets frustrated and she leaves with the monkey of frustration while his friends keep you occupied.
Do you see where this is going? Sister then feeds her monkey, monkey invites more friends, and another monkey jumps in joining the cycle. This goes on until a little ole' sister who has played this game before exercises her God given authority, who by the grace of God is not interested in playing this game again, discerns when the monkey attacks her and puts him right back in his place. The mess that the monkey made is left to be dealt with in prayer by the cleanup crew of Pastor's and bandleaders. Sometimes it is 20 years down the road and things are still a mess before someone is able to come in and say, "Clean this mess up! No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"
Not everything that is spiritual is godly. We need to realize that it is necessary for us to try the spirits to see if they are of God or not. We talk about the mind of Christ but we cannot have the mind of Christ in us if we are constantly entertaining monkeys.

New Signage and Visitors
It is time for Spring Cleaning! Windows washed, gutters cleared again, the front parking lot blown free of debris and (hopefully) the water leak was found and sealed all on Saturday afternoon. Finally, signage was put on the building windows. Fellowship Hall was added to the south door, address numbers and Sanctuary were added to the north doors, and in the center window information about the local church was added. Even some of the younger kids that come noticed the building was looking good. Come have a look.
We have been blessed with nine first time visitors in the last 2 weeks and that does not include return visitors that have come or those who have become regular in their attendance. Praise the Lord for these souls. We pray that they will receive something from God and return to His house every opportunity they have.
Spring has only arrived. Opportunities to work on the building, fellowship with the Saints and minister to the local community are only beginning to open up. Come and be a part - Get your Working gloves and be ready!

New Project Idea - Check it out!
Can you visualize having an all day "wrapping" session with the ladies of the church. Cut, Wrap, Coil, Stitch and then later that evening having the men come in for and auction off the creations. A great time to serve ice cream floats ( but isn't anytime a great time for ice cream ). It would make a great winter project also with hot cocoa and marshmellows.
Try the project out and let me know what you think. I personally haven't tried this yet (It looks like I'll be working on Children's Assembly projects all summer).
Send in your project ideas to wantulok@sbcglobal.net.

HAPPY EASTER!
What a pleasure it is to gather together with the Saints of God to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
We had a good service Sunday morning and then the children enjoyed activities especially designed for them at conclusion of services. Perfect weather prevailed and smiling faces dominated during this fun time we enjoyed together.
Words are not enough to describe how the Spirit of God moved and blessed on Sunday evening. Thank the Lord for all His many blessings. After feasting in the Spirit of God, everyone enjoyed an Ice Cream Float Social. We all simply relaxed and reflected in good fellowship. Some of the young folks took chairs out on the porch and enjoyed the gentle breeze God provided. The greatest excitement at the social was Sister Martha Jean and the "Wild" Strawberry soda.
If you were not there - you were missed.
Thank you! Your presence made the day a wonderful day of celebration!
