One step closer to a finished kitchen

Sorry - I should have taken before pictures.  The wall that has electrical service showing also has a water line behind it going from the source to the ladies bathroom.  Yeah!  No more exposed pipes and wires!  All the walls are in the process of being prepared in the kitchen area also.  The floor lacks 2 tiles that need to be cut and grout.  Doesn't that look good?  Everyone seems so excited about the work.  Plumbing for the hotwater heater now has a shut-off valve, one from the where the source was that works now too.  I didn't get a picture but there is a sink and cabinet in the bathroom (no hole in the floor of the cabinet).  It is used and will need some attention but it only cost $40.00 for the entire unit.  They were able to get it and get it installed so we were able to use the bathroom.  Shut off valves were installed in the bathroom also.  You may not be able to see a great deal of the labor because it was in the attic and behind the walls.  That was some real labor with 100+ degrees outside too.  The list continues and we are staying right on target.  Nothing is really finished but everything is coming right along.

They have things cleaned up and out so that they will be able to work again but right now with the dry weather David is having to build fences and move his cattle to another location with grass.  Stephen, Sean and Luke will be in camps and then we have Regional Convention coming up.  Thanks guys for all the help - it is looking really good.  I (we) can't wait until it is all done where we can enjoy it.

When we finishe we are going to have to work on new carpet, pews, and of course a paved parking lot - smiles.

Thanks again to David, Stephen, Sean, Luke, and Willard Wantulok for all their hard work.

Latest Update - More to come on Sunday!

Yes, they are still working. Looks like this project may take a while but it is going to be worth it.

David got some of the drywall installed in the office - well - what was two closets and is about to be an office. The tile is laid in the kitchen and by the front door. He is waiting on doing the grout. The wall in the kitchen is secured and should have drywall by tonight. Electrical wires and plumbing is roughed into that wall. (Ladies we are back to one bathroom temporarily - the spoils of remodeling.) He still had plumbing and electric to get into the wall next to the classrooms but that will be for another day. I do not know what all they will finish this evening but I do know he is hoping to have the walls ready to texture in the kitchen next. We are getting closer and closer to having a kitchen. I know the list is long and all the finish work takes a great deal of time and does not show all the labor involved.

So many things have been added to the list - we may have to have some fundraisers so there is no lag in the work. It is looking great. I will have additional pictures by Sunday night.

If anyone knows of someone who would take the yard sale stuff off our hands - please contact the pastor at 870-679-9124. It is very difficult to work while trying to move those things or tripping over things.

Thanks for all the prayers and support.

Tile and Paint have begun

The painting is not completed but you can certainly tell a difference.  No pegboard and all the walls will be the same color in the sanctuary.  Check out the picture.  More will come later.

The picture of tile was laid in front of the sanctuary door.  Isn't it pretty?!  It hasn't been grouted as of yet but that step is coming next.  The plan is to lay this same tile in the kitchen area.  There is a lot yet to do before the kitchen will be complete but as these preparations are completed things will progress faster.

The list of things to do is still long and could grow but funds and energy will make everything come to a completion.  There is still some more pegboard to remove from the building. Walls will go up in those rooms in the same manner and steps that have been taken in the sanctuary.  The nursery is about ready to paint.  The office will take some more preparations still.

Plans are being made to work on the exterior of the building as these interior projects are completed.  Exterior painting, 2 new signs, a flag pole and an exterior storage room to be added on the north side of the building.

It is looking good.  Plans to work on the building on Saturday, June 12, 2010 are being made.  We hope to be in the sanctuary on June 13th but if not by Father's Day for certain.

Yes, it was around Mother's Day this project began and hopefully by Father's Day we will have the sanctuary back in order.  It won't be long and the kitchen, nursery and office will be completed, along with a new wall in the primary's Sunday School class and loss of pegboard in the hallway.  A hot water heater should be installed while working on the kitchen.  Then to the region out of doors.

New front doors, carpet, pews and a completion of the room with the Heat/Air will have to come after additional funds are raised.  Of course, we could use pavement in the parking lot too.  Everything must take its turn.  We are very pleased with the work that is taking place right now.  One of the members stated that Rome wasn't built in a day.

Thank you to everyone who contributes through prayer, labor, finances or whatever God lays upon your heart.  You are a blessing - thank you.
