We had a wonderful tea at Bald Knob on Saturday, June 18 at 2:00PM. The decorations were themed around a Tuscan Picnic. We had red and white check table clothes with white flour sake napkins. Small cutting boards with cheese, beef summer sausage, wheat thins and a tray of fresh fruits (grapes, cantalope, watermelon balls, and black berries). Finger sandwiches and chips were also available and a variety of teas, coffees, flavored waters hot or with ice. Strawbaskets filled with sunflowers or grapevines and loaves of bread were in the center of the tables along with bottles of melted candles. A wooden birdcage filled with large silk flowers, a variety of bottle and chickedns graced the serving table along with apple trays. Cups decorated with roses or formed like apples were at each setting.
Our devotion was about "Smells". We discussed familiar smells, smells that remind us of home, favorite smells and smells that just plain stink. We all shared smells that we enjoy. Scriptures were taken from Genesis 8:21-22; Ephesians 5:1-2; and Job chapter 10 with a focus on Job 10:12. We talked about not only a sweet smelling savor to the Lord but the favor of God. Noah had found grace int he eyes of the Lord but after the flood he offered up a sweet smelling savor and he favor was extended to him. We that are living righteously before God are like a sweet smelling savor to the Lord. We desire the favor of God let us offer to Him what brings His favor upon us. Jesus was our sacrifice but we must accept Him. Job understood the blessings of life and favor from God. Do we?
The craft demonstration this month was how to make bath salt gifts. 1/2 cup Epsom Salt, 1/2 cup Kosher Salt, 5 drops of essence of oil (we used lilac), you may add food coloring but chose not to do that. Place in a Ziplock bag and shake till mixed well. Fill small canning jars, decorate, tag and deliver. We used the very small jars and got 2 1/2 gifts out of a bag. They were made to use for a foot bath only. Each lady present received a jar as a party favor.
We want to thank our visitors from the Pine Bluff Church (Kat and Diane), along with Amber and Abby from the Searcy area. We hope you come again. Our ladies all enjoyed the time of fellowship and it appears as though there will be a tea schedule for the month of July. We are excited about Gaylene moving to the area. Tearesa and Oletta were out of town and they should be back for the July tea. Ladies get your tea cups ready.
A special thank you to Cheryle Andras for her help with this months tea party. She prepared picnic baskets as door prizes. Diane from Pine Bluff and Debbie of Bald Knob received the baskets. Betty of Bald Knob received the receipe box and cards. Eash remaining lady received additional jars of bath salts.
Pictures were made by Kat but I haven't been able to open them yet. Give us some time and we will share the pictures with you at a later time.
We missed those who were not able to come but there will be other teas. Watch for the announcement of July tea dates.
Thanks again for your participation.
