Super Saturday Academy - July 24, 2010

Super Saturday Academy was a huge success! We know because the soul of a child was saved through these efforts.

Theme: Firm Believers In (FBI) Christ Academy
Scripture:  1 Timothy 4:12  Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Colors: Black and White

Activities: ID Photo shoot, weight, height, fingerprinting, singing, obstacle course, robot craft, snow cones, other snacks, message, skits, alter service, awards - ID Badges and Certificates, treats of dark sunglasses, FBI notebooks and law enforcement stickers.

Special Guest: Samantha Vickers

Sixteen students registered for Super Saturday and 32 were present for this Children's Event. Everyone seemed to have a great time. We were fortunate to have helpers and participants from the following towns in Arkansas: Bald Knob, Judsonia, Searcy, Wheatley, Austin, Mt. View, and Pocahontas.

We began with registration and the taking of Identification Information. Then a gathering to welcome and as the singing activities continued small groups would proceed to the fingerprinting activity. Crafting activity included a color page of our theme detective and assembling a robot that taught the tools of our warfare. The obstacle course included a tire run, test your aim, and a relay. The temperature was over 100 degrees so the shade of the trees was a great blessing. Snow cones hit the spot upon entering the building for snacks. Time for classes...

Skit 1:

FBI Agent Dakota stood at the front of the building displaying his blue gun issue. He was approached by several different people who tried to convince him that the gun was red, green, yellow, purple, black and white or not there at all. They all had their reasons for their individual beliefs. One her father told her that was the name of the color, another learned it in school, etc. FBI Agent Dakota was not moved. He KNEW the gun was blue!

Skit 2:

Jesus entered center front. Different visitors shared what their Jesus looked like and formed him to look the way they envision him.

Athlete - His Jesus was shooting hoops.

Cheerleader - Her Jesus was smiling and hands raised from a cheer.

Thinker - Her Jesus was thinking with not expression.

Body Builder - His Jesus was pumping iron.

You get the idea?

Then there was the Christian Girl - She knew Jesus and she placed Him as he was when he died on the cross for the sins of the world.

Thanks!
