The Elements Submit and Bring Glory to Christ

EARTH - I Corinthians 10:3-4  Christ the Rock

The speaker talked about Moses striking the rock in the wilderness and about the wise man building his house upon the rock.  Jesus is our rock and our foundation.  Christ provides all that we need.
Psalms 61:2

Song:  I Go to the Rock

WIND - Nahum 1:3 God has His way in the whirlwind.  Matthew 8:24-27.  The speaker spoke of our temptation to quake when we experience storms.  They shared the only safe place is in the "eye" of the storm.  The eye of the storm is a place of peace and refuge.  Christ is our "eye" in the storm.  We must move with the storm if we are to remain within the eye.  It is not a passive place but one of courage and boldness in the midst of the storm, which gives you VICTORY!

Song:  I Know the Master of the Wind

FIRE - Matthew 3:11  He will baptise you with the Holy Ghost and FIRE.  Daniel 3:13-25.  The speaker spoke of the 3 Hebrew children as they experienced the firey trial but they were not alone.  The fourth man was seen walking around was like unto the Son of God.  We are not alone when we got through firey trials.  We have someone with us who has already won the victory.  The Hebrew children came out of this firey trial without even the smell of smoke upon them.

Song:  He is Still in the Fire

WATER - John 4:1-9  Living Water.  This story is of the Woman at the Well.  If we will only partake of that living water from Christ.  Did you remember how the woman RAN (like an overflowing river) to others to tell them of what Christ had done for her. (The river was flowing through her now.)

Song:  There is a River

The four most powerful elements of our world are: Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water. We have seen how these elements submit and bring glory to Christ.  There is still yet an even more power available to us. That is LOVE.  Love supersedes the laws of nature.  Christ proved that Love passes all understanding and made pure LOVE availabe to everyone through the cross.

HEART:  Ephesians 3:14-19; Philippians 3:10; John 3:16-17  All we need is Christ.  He is our ROCK.  He controls the WIND.  He is victorious over the FIRE.  He is our living WATER. Christ has been given power over all but there is still one place that He would like to be invited...that place is in your heart!

Call for Prayer:

If you have not invited Christ to live within your heart and submitted to Him...seek Him...and you will find Him.  Don't wait too late...today is a GREAT day to come to know the LORD! Today, right NOW, is the DAY of SALVATION!

If you are a disciple of Christ, please, be in prayer for souls to be reached for Christ.  Remember our missionary's, and their family's, on the fields of labor.

May God Grant You Peace

Our prayers and condolences are extended to those who lost loved ones and friends during the resent storms in our area.  May God grant you peace.

We also extend our prayers to those who have suffered loss of property.  Many homes have reported damage and a great number is still without power at this time.

Please remember to check on the elderly during this time.

Thank you.

Surprise!

David surprised us and came down to help work on the church since he was rained out.  He said we have a "demo" kitchen.  It is in there and looks good but nothing is connected yet.  So close.....and yet so far away...

Here are some pictures to bring you up to date.

This is a picture of the first coat of paint on the nursery/office.  I guess time will tell how it will end up being used.

Getting ready to hang the kitchen cabinets.

A few adjustments.
Hey, Sean!

Interesting sawing technique David.
Stephen is getting dirty!
GREAT JOB!  Thanks!
Does it really look that good?  WOW!
Remember this kitchen is only a "demo"!  Remember we still need electricity connected, water and sewer lines connected.  It is all just in the next room.  We also have a hot water heater that has been donated yet to be installed.  Grout, re-mudding a few areas that have been messed up, paint, backspash and wall protection are planned.  There is a vented hood ready to go over the stove also.

Don't forget this is only the kitchen and there is still more to do.  The sanctuary, nursery/office, closet/office still have plenty of work yet to be finished.  They are going nicely though.  The room between the kitchen and main auditorium is going to need to be finished out at some point.  Not to mention the need for new flooring throughout, new pews and the sound system organized which we have been hoping to get accomplihsed for sometime now.  We haven't even mentioned the needs on the outside of the building such as paint, a place to put outside tools, and the parking needs.  There is plenty of work...if you have a mind to work...we can but you to good use.  Not everyone will be able to help with this portion of the process but there will be a need of those who help keep it neat, clean and in order.  When this job is finished there will have been a lot of hard work, time and money expended. This should be something that should last a long while if it is respected.  Part of showing our love toward God is demonstrated in keeping God's house nice.

Remember VOLUNTEERS are welcome, donations accepted in labor, items or funds.

If you would like to know more about how to help with these projects please contact us via e-mail:
Pastor W. F. Wantulok

Thanks again to the Wantulok boys:  David, Sean, Stephen, Willard and Luke.

How to Make Strawberry Boxes

Items you will need:

1 Strawberry Pattern on Red or Pink card stock
2 Leaf Patterns on Green card stock
(We scanned in our template and printed out our patterns onto the cardstock but you can cut your pattern out and trace it onto card stock and it will work fine)
Scissors
Ribbon - Enough to weave through the strawberry ends and tie a bow
A Creaser - to smooth your folds (Can be found with Quilting supplies at WalMart)
1/8 inch Hole Punch
Secure bonding material (We just used clear tape but it is recommended to use something better)
Small amount of Easter Grass
Small amount of Candy to place inside your favor.  We used strawberry covered chocolate.  The wrapped strawberry hard candy would be a good choice too.

Trace your template onto card stock of your choice.  Cut out 1 strawberry pattern and 2 leaf patterns.

Next fold along the dotted lines of the strawberry pattern.  I fold where I can see the lines first to help me fold a straight line. Then fold the paper back to where you cannot see the lines and crease.

Creasing with a tool is recommended but it doesn't have to be this kind of tool.

Bring the ends together and secure them in whatever manner.  I used tape but if you need it to be more secure use a more secure method.

Use a 1/8 inch hole punch to punch holes as indicated on the pattern.  The leaves may not fit into your hole punch.   No worries, just fold the pattern in 1/2 and insert the pattern 1/2 way over the hole to punch.  In so doing, a complete hole will be punched.

Angle the ends of the ribbon with your scissors.  Weave the ribbon through the holes you made in the strawberry.  I like to begin in the section that I taped to first to help secure it.  Be sure to gather the paper as you thread the ribbon to keep from tearing your paper.

Add some type of stuffing.  I used paper Easter Grass to keep from having static issues.  It looks natural having a little green hanging out of the strawberry as if it were fresh picked.

Pull ribbon together and secure by tieing, making sure that each pedal on the strawberry  is tucked under or over evenly around.  It will help to hide your folds and make your straberry have a better appearance.  If you are going to add a treat, now is the time to do it.  I added strawberry covered chocolate pieces.

Thread both ends of the ribbon through the center holes in both of the leaves you cut out.  Make sure that the printed pattern is face down.  Tie a bow to secure the leaves.  The leaves will look flat and fact.  Hold the center of the leaf secure so as not to tear the paper and run your finger nail down the center of each leaf curling as you go.  It will give a more natural texture to your leaves.  Make sure that your leaves are turned where both layers may be seen.

Your strawberry is finished and ready to display or give as a favor.  Make several and place in a basket or on a tray.  Simple, inexpensive, and adorable.  Oh, and they never spoil.

Several of us thought it was neat to have strawberry boxes from the strawberry capital, Bald Knob, Arkansas.  Now we can have strawberrys anytime during the year.

Hope you enjoy the project.  Let us know if you try it.  There are several versions of this pattern available on the internet but this is the method that we used.

Have a strawberry day!

Staged Tea Pictures

So...since I didn't get pictures at the actual Ladies Tea.  So sorry!  I staged a little setting.  It isn't an exact replication but Sister was wanting to see the Carrots and Strawberry's.  You can see the ladies hankies we had for favors and the baskets did have a layer of green Easter grass.  Keep watching and we will share the instructions later.
