Ladies,
I have great news to share. We have now given 15 prayer shawls (when I finish the one I am working on right now). Currently, I have no more knitted shawls or fleece shawls (they were a big hit Sister Martha). I have one crocheted shawl left. Sister Linda has 6 more ready when she is able to get them to us. This is wonderful!
Check the winter sales and clearance rows for yarn: Homespun yarn by Lion Brand takes 2 skiens to make a knitted shawl. I believe that with Red Heart Yarn (regular size) it takes 4 skiens to make a crocheted shawl. The fleece shawls took 2 - 1 yard pieces at 60 inches wide. Even the men folk can help with the gathering process.
People are hurting and need to find the comfort that will only be found through Jesus Christ. We hope to be able, in some small way, to place them in rememberance of God and His everlasting love for them through the prayer shawl ministry.
If you would like to submit a name and need to be considered to receive a prayer shawl please contact one of the WMB Ladies from Bald Knob, Arkansas or e-mail at wantulok@sbcglobal.net If you would like to donate yarn, fleece or funds toward the project it will be greatly appreciated. If you would like to support this effort by purchasing a shawl as a regular gift and not through the prayer shawl ministry, shawls may be ordered for a $35.00 donation (plus shipping if applies).
