 Time for Good-byes.

There were so many more pictures we could share and so many more activities.  There were classes for all ages including adults, exercise and competition games, water fun, devotions, snacks, dorm competitions, funtime even stop and watch the weather time.  It was great fun.  Sister Esther Bock does a great job as directior and has a wonderful group of supporters and campers.  We always love visiting this region for its beauty and the beauty and spirit of its people.  We praise the Lord for 2 saved during this camp and thank the Lord for those who were saved last year and still working faithfully for the Lord.

Just a quick post!

Hey!  Everyone!

We just wanted to send a little note to everyone to let them know we are still working for the Lord.  We just came out of wonderful Family Camps in South Dakota (the Great Plains Region) and in Iowa (the Central Region).  We have well over 1000 pictures we could share so expect a few along the way.

We want to thank everyone for their support and prayers since we are gone for something like 27 days.  The boys, Stephen and Sean, have been taking care of the house and the church while we were gone and we want to thank them for their work.  They even had a VLB Canoe Trip while we were gone and came out like lobsters!  We needed pictures - I'll check to see if anyone thought about it.

We had spiritual camps in both regions we visited.  We praise the Lord for His presence and the work He is accomplishing in both of these regions.  They have wonderful people who perform double duty.  They simply need more hands and feet to help with the work.  There are great distances between local churches in both of these regions which hinders fellowship and yet they continue to work faithfully and endure whatever hardship comes as GOOD SOLDIERS!

Great Plains Family Kamp in South Dakota we have reported 2 saved.  We also had some intersting weather.  Hail storms camp through twice and produced up to golfball size hail in the location where we were.  A tornado was produced from one of these storms but it was some 35 or 45 miles away.  I got some great shots of storm clouds but I haven't learned how to take a picture of lightening yet. I missed some great opportunities.  How often to you get to see a double rainbow?  How about 2 double rainbows?  We were blessed to see 2 double rainbows after the storms - BEAUTIFUL!  I will post pictures as soon as I get an oportunity.  The theme for the Great Plains Kamp was Soldiers of the Cross.  Boot Camp activities were everywhere from morning mail call to mess hall and testimonies from soldiers themselves.  Sister Esther Bock does a great job directing Family Kamp.  We want to thank the Bock family (who Oversee the region) of Brother Delbert, Sister Shirley and Sister Teresa for allowing us to stay in their home.  Excuse me - and Tuff.  We always feel so welcome and comfortable there.  Thanks Brother Delbert for helping us with our flat tire.  We want to thank Brother David Bock for sharing pictures and helping us get a program we could use to share our pictures.  We also really enjoyed sharing the trip to Iowa with Sister Erma.

We arrived in Iowa just before another storm.  We appreciate Frank and Laurie Cleaver (and Biscuit) for allowing us to stay in their home.  Frank even remodeled a bathroom for us!  WOW!  It is beautiful and much appreciated. Frank and Laurie took us to see the Botantical Gardens before we left for camp and I had a blast taking pictures.  Expect to see pictures of flowers everywhere for the next year.  Thanks, we had a GREAT time! Sister Laurie did a great job with Family Camp.  I have never been to a camp that had so many visitors.  I expect to see the area grow and have an increase in campers next year.  Theme for the Camp was GO Fish and that they did.  The kids all seemed to have a great time and everything was then compared to a spiritual lesson.  It was reported that 2 were saved and 1 was sanctified.  Wonderful Camp!  Before we left we had the oportunity to meet all of the remaining Cleaver Family and visit with Overseer Roger Ammons.  We want to thank everyone for a wonderful time.  We learned that Brother Frank Cleaver, SR is well known by members of our local church but they had lost contact.  He was in George Town, AR back when they were kids.  We also learned that Frank, JR has a best friend that lives close to us that we know as well.   Of course there is another Arkansas connection.  Brother Frank Cleaver, SR is a brother to Sister Imogene Goodnight (the pastor's wife of Pine Bluff, Arkansas).  What a small world!

I thank the Lord for being a present help as we traveled.  The pain from my shoulder gave me some trouble but God was always good to come on the scene.  We stopped a little more frequently than we usually would but we tried to make it productive.  We took Luke to see the home of Jessie James and had a little history lesson while we there.  It is interesting how facts often differ from the stories that are passed down through the years.

We want to thank everyone from our local church in Bald Knob, Arkansas for their prayers and suport as we traveled.  They are a WONDERFUL group of people!  They certainly share in the fruits of these camps.

We are currently preparing for the Children's Assembly in Ashville, North Carolina.  We covet your continued prayerful support.  We are anticipating a wonderful time in the Lord.

Remember Pictures will be coming later.  Love to all!

WOW! 3 Continents Viewing!

Wow!  I just checked the blogs analysis and we now have 3 different continents viewing, North America, South America and Europe.  More specifically we have had visitors from Moscow, Russia; Edgbaston, United Kingdom; and Pelotas, Brazil.  Welcome to the Dorcas Blog for our local church from Bald Knob, Arkansas, USA.  (We also have 6 different states currently viewing the blog.) The last few months we have  been reporting other local church activities.  We hope you feel at home and enjoy your visit.  We pray that you leave feeling refreshed and inspired.

Remember if you have any Dorcas project ideas that you would like to share, simply e-mail them to wantulok@sbcglobal.net.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Super Saturday Academy - July 24, 2010

Super Saturday Academy was a huge success! We know because the soul of a child was saved through these efforts.

Theme: Firm Believers In (FBI) Christ Academy
Scripture:  1 Timothy 4:12  Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Colors: Black and White

Activities: ID Photo shoot, weight, height, fingerprinting, singing, obstacle course, robot craft, snow cones, other snacks, message, skits, alter service, awards - ID Badges and Certificates, treats of dark sunglasses, FBI notebooks and law enforcement stickers.

Special Guest: Samantha Vickers

Sixteen students registered for Super Saturday and 32 were present for this Children's Event. Everyone seemed to have a great time. We were fortunate to have helpers and participants from the following towns in Arkansas: Bald Knob, Judsonia, Searcy, Wheatley, Austin, Mt. View, and Pocahontas.

We began with registration and the taking of Identification Information. Then a gathering to welcome and as the singing activities continued small groups would proceed to the fingerprinting activity. Crafting activity included a color page of our theme detective and assembling a robot that taught the tools of our warfare. The obstacle course included a tire run, test your aim, and a relay. The temperature was over 100 degrees so the shade of the trees was a great blessing. Snow cones hit the spot upon entering the building for snacks. Time for classes...

Skit 1:

FBI Agent Dakota stood at the front of the building displaying his blue gun issue. He was approached by several different people who tried to convince him that the gun was red, green, yellow, purple, black and white or not there at all. They all had their reasons for their individual beliefs. One her father told her that was the name of the color, another learned it in school, etc. FBI Agent Dakota was not moved. He KNEW the gun was blue!

Skit 2:

Jesus entered center front. Different visitors shared what their Jesus looked like and formed him to look the way they envision him.

Athlete - His Jesus was shooting hoops.

Cheerleader - Her Jesus was smiling and hands raised from a cheer.

Thinker - Her Jesus was thinking with not expression.

Body Builder - His Jesus was pumping iron.

You get the idea?

Then there was the Christian Girl - She knew Jesus and she placed Him as he was when he died on the cross for the sins of the world.

Thanks!

We want to thank the Lord for being with us and touching the heart of a child who repented and accepted Jesus as her Savior today!

Thank you, Sister Samantha Vickers of Pocahontas, AR, for coming and serving as our evangelist for Super Saturday Academy, for bringing her snow cone machine and supplies.

Thank you, Sister Jessica Heitman for serving as our director and providing sunglasses and certificates.

Thank you, Sister Cheryle Andras for the robot craft.

Thank you, Brother Sean and Stephen Wantulok for the obstacle course.

Thank you, Sister Angela Pierce and Sister Martha Vinson for helping with snacks, registration, and watching over children.

Thank you, The Wantulok's for ID Badges

Thank you to all of the teen that came and helped with skits and various other activities as needed.

Thank you to those who picked up children and those who stayed to share the day.

Thank you to Lee Ann Dixon for her help with gathering fingerprinting papers, law enforcement badges, and being there to help today.

July WMB

Praise God for his presence among us in WMB Service last night. We are so blessed as Children of God to have a heavenly Father who loves and cares for each of us. The spirit of praise and worship was upon God's people. Praise the Lord! Special anointing and prayer was offered. The water was troubled and we did not hesitate to step in and seek God for our portion of His blessing.

Service last night included a fun thought concerning ladies handbags. What is in your bag? Each lady was given a sack in which to dump all of the contents of her purse. Then as the service progressed, different speakers shared some necessary items that should be placed in our purses. Each item was also a reminder of a spiritual necessity that we should carry on our spiritual journey. The ladies shared the necessary items, thought, scripture. The sharing of experiences and unique thoughts brought us closer together and added personal inspiration of each speaker. At the conclusion, we placed the items we had that were considered necessary items back in our handbags and looked to see what weights we have been carrying that were unnecessary. Then we went to the scripture found in Hebrews 12:1-13.

We carry so many unnecessary weights around with us in the natural without even realizing it. So, do we make the same mistake in the spirit? We all had a time of reflection. Before closing the service, we took time to thank the Lord again for his blessings through song and praise.

We also want to thank the Lord for our two very important visitors: Tori Tretenburg and Autumn Thompson.
